Terms of Use
Effective 13 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and SideQuest Labs, Australia ("we", "us"), the publisher of OneThingDev. By using the app you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
1. The app
OneThingDev gives you one software concept a day, with questions, reflections and reviews. You can start as a guest and sign in with Apple or Google later to keep your progress across phones.
You must be at least 13 to use the app, or 16 in the EU and UK.
We grant you a limited, non-transferable licence to use OneThingDev on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as the App Store Usage Rules allow.
2. Lessons
Lessons are for learning, not professional advice. We check them, but they can contain mistakes or go out of date, so check code before you rely on it. Code examples are provided as they are, and you may use them in your own work.
3. Your content
Your reflections and answers stay yours. You let us store and process them only to run and improve the app, as the Privacy Policy describes.
4. Acceptable use
Do not copy, scrape, resell or republish the lessons or the app; do not reverse engineer the app or its servers, interfere with them, or use them to break the law. Code examples are the exception: section 2 lets you use them.
5. Ending your use
You can stop at any time and delete your account in the Account tab. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. Sections 3 to 8 survive the end of your use.
6. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it is error-free or always available. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded (for example the Australian Consumer Law).
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for OneThingDev in the 12 months before it.
8. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Maintenance and support: we alone provide them; Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the app.
- Warranty: we are solely responsible for any warranty not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to one, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Claims: we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any claim about the app, including product liability, failing to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection, privacy, or a third party's intellectual property.
- Legal compliance: you confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party terms: you must comply with third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your wireless carrier's.
- Third-party beneficiary: Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
These terms are the app's licence agreement in App Store Connect.
9. Changes and law
We may update these terms; we will post the new version with a new effective date and tell you in the app if a change matters. These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia, and the courts there have jurisdiction, unless your consumer law says otherwise.
